About me
My name is Esther Maria Meyer. Born in Vienna, I grew up in the Stuttgart region, and through my studies in Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau, I am connected to various German-speaking places. Interwoven in this network is my faith, which led me to study theology but has also sustained me in many different ways: as an inspiring high, as a compass in making decisions, as a connection with others in congregations and ecumenical events, as the work of the Spirit that opens space for unexpected mercy, as struggle and lament, or as a faint offer that knocked at my door in difficult times.
I currently live in beautiful Basel, Switzerland, have been married for over 10 years, and am training to become a pastor in the Reformed Church of Basel-Stadt. Previously, from 2020 to 2024, I was an assistant in the Department of Practical Theology, researching intercultural ecumenism.
On this website I publish texts that I write along this path: sermons, spiritual reflections, theological thoughts, academic articles, and much more.
Enjoy reading and reflecting further. Because I am convinced that we can progress further together than alone, I welcome comments and contact.
